FINE BAHAMIAN LANDSCAPES

This gallery contains my fine art black and white photography of the islands of the Bahamas. They stem from over ten years of negatives. Most of the images are of the Exumas, yet I have photographed on several other out islands, such as the Abacos, Acklins Island, Andros and Long Island.

All of the images were shot on 4x5 film, using a Wisner Traditional Field Camera. They were shot with a variety of films, and printed on Ilford papers, using select developers.

This gallery is a work in progress, as I am always in the darkroom. As my darkroom work continues and my master prints are scanned, the site will have a larger online portfolio for viewing. For me, viewing a fine art, gelatin silver print on a museum or gallery wall, or holding one in your hands, is a much greater experience than viewing a scanned digital file online. Although it is sometimes tough to perfectly reproduce this quality for viewing digitally, please have a look at this traditionalist's best attempt to do so.
